WHAT WE BELIEVE

Rooted in Christ. Resilient for Life.

At BG FIRST, our beliefs shape everything we do — from the way we worship to how we love our neighbors. We are part of the Church of the Nazarene, a global Wesleyan-Holiness denomination committed to Christlike living, Spirit-filled transformation, and compassionate mission in the world.

Our faith is more than ideas — it’s a way of life anchored in Jesus.

Our Core Beliefs

God

We believe in one God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — who created all things and invites us into a loving relationship with Himself.

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus is the Son of God — fully divine, fully human — who lived a sinless life, died for our sins, rose again, and will return to restore all things.

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is active in the world today, guiding, empowering, and transforming believers to live holy lives.

The Bible

We believe the Bible is God’s inspired Word — the final authority for what we believe and how we live.

Salvation

We believe salvation is a gift of grace through faith in Jesus Christ — available to all who repent and believe. Through salvation, we are forgiven, made new, and invited into the mission of God.

Holiness

We believe God calls every believer to a life of holiness — growing in love, purity, and obedience through the work of the Holy Spirit.

The Church

We believe the Church is the Body of Christ — a global and local community of believers sent to share the gospel, make disciples, and serve the world.

Baptism & Communion

We practice the sacraments of baptism and the Lord’s Supper as signs of God’s grace and our commitment to follow Him.

Our Affiliation

We are joyfully part of the Church of the Nazarene, a worldwide family of faith with over 2.5 million members in 160+ nations.
